| The cottage on the left, just past the vehicles on the left, was where the Deacon family lived.They were friendly with a a member of able company who was billeted in Wild Bill's cottage which is out of shot on my left.
When this soldier went to fight overseas, he asked the Deacon family to look after his kit, others left theirs within the billets. As expected, his was the only kitbag not to have been plundered. It would appear that other troops not necessarily Paratroopers, were billeted whilst the others went to fight.
